Ok. where do I start? This book had everything from lying and cheating, to murder. In the end it was a good book, I felt relieved to finish it. But it took me almost a quarter to half of the way through before I felt like I "wanted" to finish it rather than I "had" to finish it.
It's set in a small close nit town that is rocked when a man from a nearby town confesses to killing his terminal wife all because she asked him to do it. It takes you through the days leading up to the murder as well as the trial and the decision by the jury.
That wasn't really the story that captivated me though. What got me was the story line between Cameron MacDonald and his wife Allie. A devoted wife shocked to discover her husband cheating on her right under her nose. Honestly it pissed me off to no end! Picoult paints Cam as this wonderful, handsome man who would do anything for his family and his wife Allie as completely devoted to her husband who would do anything for him. I was utterly disgusted with the lying and cheating that went on behind his wife's back! I hate reading about cheating spouses. It really gets my blood boiling!
Mercy a concept woven into each and every story line in this book. What would you do for someone you love? Would you take their life if they were terminally ill and asked you to? Would you forgive them of lying and cheating?

Sounds interesting. Thank you for the review.
