This is only my second pleasure book of the year so far. I do alot of cookbook reading. :) I pick up photography books here and there and lots and lots of parenting books but nothing really just for me. So I have been trying to change that and read more before I go to bed at night. This book was actually on my list of goals for 2010 and obviously since it was still on my list I didn't do so well with my book reading goal last year!
A couple of weeks ago I finished Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. I really liked this book and loved Emily's writing style. I have already checked out two more of her books from the library and added them to my must read soon list!!
I was chatting a few weeks back with Ashley over at mrsashcake and we got to talking about some books by Emily Giffin. They have been on my “to read” list for a while but I have been so busy and not having time to read that I never checked them out from the library. I browse the books at Target all the time and one that always caught my eye was Love the One You're With. Ashley of course has read it, she is a bookworm. :) Anyways she said it was a really good book and that I would probably like it. She was right! It was a very easy read as her writing style seemed so down to earth. I felt like I was chatting with my girlfriends instead of reading a book. I finished it within a week which is quite the accomplishment for me. I am trying so hard to take time out and read which means less time watching TV. I think this has been good for me.
So back to the book. I am sure everyone can relate to “the grass is always greener” saying and the thought of the one that “got away” and how your life might be different if you had made different choices along the way. This book takes you along the journey of tempting fate and exploring those different choices, years later and how that in the end, the way your life turned out is exactly how it should be! Again such a great read!!
Next up by Emily Giffin is Heart of the Matter

Sounds interesting. I am going to try to read more. That is my plan for this summer. Glad you enjoyed it. I haven't read anything by her.
